A 22-year tech who got fed up.
Mike Alvarez spent two decades working for the big national HVAC franchises in Tampa Bay. By 2011, he was tired of watching technicians get pushed to sell $9,000 systems to homeowners who needed a $40 part.
So he started Sunshine HVAC of Tampa out of his garage in Tampa. One truck, one phone line, one rule: tell the truth and pick up the phone. 15 years later we run a small fleet — but Mike is still on calls most days, and his daughter Lauren runs the office.
We're not the cheapest, we're not the biggest, and we don't want to be. We want to be the HVAC company you tell your neighbors about — the way it used to work.

If your AC needs a $40 capacitor, you get the $40 capacitor — not a new system. Our techs are paid hourly, not commission. There's no incentive to upsell.
